Seven Sisters Apostolate

The Seven Sisters apostolate is a nationwide organization that was formed to pray for parish priests. In Connecticut we have many parishes that have now started a Seven Sisters Apostolate group. St John Paul II, St Patrick and St Bridget, started a chapter of the Seven Sisters Apostolate in October 2023. A Seven Sisters group begins when at least seven women respond to a call to the mission of the apostolate, to pray for their Parish Priest.

Each member commits to a Holy Hour on a distinct day of the week, thus covering a complete week. The commitment is to that day; the Seven Sister may pray at any time on that day. Sisters are asked to pray in front of the tabernacle or during a Holy Hour of Adoration at their own parish or any catholic church they may be visiting, praying at home is allowed for unseen circumstances preventing a visit to a church on that day.

St John Paul II parish has 12 women praying a holy hour each week. We have 7 praying for Father Dariusz and 5 praying for Father Martin. We are seeking at least 2 more women for the week to cover Father Martin in prayer. We also have substitutes that will fill in for others as needed.

The group members are not limited, the more women we get praying the more prayers for our two priests, and we can expand to our Bishop and other priests as needed. If you are interested in finding out more information contact Kathy D’Amelio, 860-873-8141 for more information.

We will be having our yearly gathering for Prayer, fellowship and Refreshments on June 8th, 2025 at 11:00 am, following the 10:00 am mass at St Patrick Parish Center. All women of the Parish are invited to stop in and share some food, faith and fellowship. For more information about the Apostolate visit:
